Wouldn’t let me close my long

I entered a long position of one mini contract this morning. Shortly after entry, the platform froze and stopped updating in real time. When it refreshed, my PnL showed approximately +$800.

I attempted multiple times to manually close the position as price moved, including when PnL dropped to around -$600, but the platform would not process the close order. No execution occurred despite repeated attempts.

The position remained open until I later reopened my computer, at which point the close finally processed at approximately -$1,400.

If this is real money trading then you should urgently contact Ninjatrader support by phone or email.

This is a community forum and consequently, it is not actively monitored by Ninjatrader.

Who is your broker / provider? There were some widespread issues this morning on Tradovate (possibly originating from the CME). If you were prop firm trading, most of them will fix affected accounts when they get it sorted out. And definitely, as the others have mentioned, contact support asap.

Ah ok, simulation trading. So all you lost was a simulation account. Thanks goodness. I thought it was more serious.

Simulations accounts sometimes do that, but it’d be a good idea to reach out to the different entities you’re engaged with and see where the fault is.
