I am experiencing 15 second delays from when button is pressed to execution. Last time, logs showed “Chart Trader close position” 18 times as I was pressing Close trying to cancel the position before Order was Submitted in the log.
I have no issues with the internet and all charts were updating, including the one where I was pressing Close button. There seems to be an NT server problem what causes it to drop messages from NT client.
I have old version of NT, 8.1.4
Logs show that normally it takes less than a second from the Close button press to Order Submitted.
I had the previous days a lot of disconnections (more than 10) and some lasted really very long. Not the usual 1-2 second disconnections. This never happened before.
I have version 8.1.5.2
I also experienced data feed (for individual ticker) dying. Not a true disconnect/reconnect. Just one of the tickers stops updating. It’s not a chart window freezing because selecting different ticker works.
I also had no issues like this since outages after NT acquired Tradovate.
Is this the live feed from NinjaTrader or simulated feeds from these funded programs? It matters. I don’t recall ever having issues with live feed from NinjaTrader in the last 5+ years or so.
Mine was live feed. Have never seen this before. November 4 was horrible. I think 7 times disconnected. I use Ninjatrader for 10 years.
I have a second connection another PC, with Tradeview, that had no problems at all. So it was clearly a Ninjatrader problem.
Just to show you that I did not dream on November, 4.
I have 2 computers running simultaneously, and the second one gives no disconnections on market data from another application.
I have never seen such a chaos before since 2016, on Ninjatrader.
I only had that problem on Nov,4. Never have seen this before. And after Nov, 4 the problem was gone.
I did not mention it at that time as I was thinking that Ninjatrader had some temporary problem with some servers.
While the problems may not be due to a bad internet connection between your home/office and your provider, could these problems due to routing between the ISP and the ninjatrader servers? I am not sure how to find the ip addresses of the ninjatrader servers but perhaps once you have this information, you could use the command line: ping -t to monitor the connections between various servers continuously while you are trading in case the problem is with the ninjatrader servers or order servers? Once you have the ip addresses, you could also ask your provider for an explanation as I would think they have routing logs.
Friday during trading I got more or less the same numbers.
Ninjatrader seems not to like it if you ask an ip address, so the one I found has something to do with them but I don’t know exactly what.
Tried even with chat gpt and grok.
