I’m using Ninjatrader 8.1.5.2 64-bit these days to download historical data using market analyzer. I don’t have any indicators that come with the software or 3rd party, loaded in market analyzer. Sometimes Ninjatrader will just crash and completely disappear without any error. The instability is getting quite frustrating.
Is anyone getting these problems?
My NT8 has been intermittently disappearing for no reason for many past versions, up to the current one (8.1.6.0). Yesterday I was editing code and wasn’t touching the keyboard and next thing I saw was NT gone. I had to redo my work because I hadn’t saved it. This would be a HUGE issue if I were in an active trade.
I use Visual Studio and never ran into this issue. As long as you have the NinjaTrader Editor open, when you save on Visual Studio it’ll auto compile. I don’t lose anything when NinjaTrader crashes since I’m using Visual Studio. However, it’ll crash if you move files around in Visual Studio.
This is not necessarily an editing issue. I have opened NT and let it sit there with no interaction and had it disappear.
That wasn’t my point. If you are using Visual Studio then it won’t disappear when NinjaTrader does. Honestly, don’t know why anyone would even use the NinjaTrader editor.
