Since Continuum is going away, I need to find out why my copier won’t work when using the new Ninjatrader Connection.
The copier works fine on tradovate accts, and tradovate props that use the Ninjatrader Connection. However, when I connect my personal ninjatrader accts with Ninjatrader Connection, it won’t copy between them. But, if ninjatrader accts are connected via Continuum, it copies just fine.
Continuum is the legacy connection method, and my accts are considered legacy. They existed prior to the merger with Tradovate and prior to the existence of Ninjatrader Connection method.
So, before anyone says that it’s a copier problem… i highly disagree. If it works on tradovate accts using Ninjatrader Connection, it should work on ninjatrader accts using Ninjatrader Connection.
It’s possible that the issue is with the copier. This new connection may be using different API and the copiers may need to get updated to recognize the new interface.
I have software that interacts with executions, orders and positions tables in NT and when I switch to the new Live connection, they don’t see the trades any more. I don’t know why yet, but I will need to figure it out. Same with all the people who wrote these trade copiers. They’ll need to update their software to recognize the new interface.
Let me explain it this way. Maybe this will make sense.
Before there were electric cars, we only had gasoline powered cars.
Then electric cars were invented.
You are the gas station operator and are asking why electric car doesn’t work with your product.
Because it works differently.
Continuum (gas powered car) was just replaced by Live (electric car). Your trade copier (gas station) isn’t compatible with the new Live connection (the new electric car).
It is compatible with the Ninjatrader connection, it works for tradovate accounts on Ninjatrader connection just fine. Everybody seems to be forgetting/dismissing that detail. I guess Ninja and tvate are not as integrated as they make it out to be?
it’s whatever at this point. I’m honestly tired of discussing it. If I could lock this thread, i would.
