Strategy duplication after disconnect/reconnect?

After a recent disconnect/reconnect on NT8 (VPS/RDP), I noticed that my strategy list appeared to duplicate — the number of strategies increased (e.g., 4 → 8) even though I did not manually add or clone anything. The duplicated entries looked identical by name and logic.

This happened in a setup where I had previously run the same strategy on MNQ and NQ, and after the reconnect the MNQ version seemed to disappear while multiple NQ-based instances were present.

Has anyone seen:

  • strategies duplicating after a reconnect or reload?
  • differences between duplicated strategy instances (e.g., quantity) without explicitly editing them?
  • anything specific to MNQ ↔ NQ switching that could explain this?

Not assuming a bug — just trying to understand how NT handles strategy state during reloads so I can avoid it going forward.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

very very strange, I have never seen anything like this and i spend hours adding strategies on control centre headless mode. I suspect something changed your workspace after reconnect and maybe you had the other strategies in the workspace that got loaded…even that thought is very very scary…and now if this problem does not repeat, you will have to live with that fear that it could happen again randomly…very serious issue.

Yes - it was very scary and continues to be. Originally I had an MNQ strategy running with 20 MNQ. and a second of the same strategy running with 2 NQ. When all the weird connect/disconnect happened Jan 9th I unexpectedly had two instances of the strategy appear - but one running 2 NQ and the other 20 NQ (not mnq) - so the system somehow regenerated my strategy after the disconnect but paired the 20 qty I set to NQ vs MNQ.

Ninjatrader actually has absolutely no clue that NQ is related to MNQ, try using the API and from MNQ you will not be able to get to NQ.
I suspect its a workspace issue, maybe get rid of all workspaces, just keep the one you are using presently.
