Schwab equities & ETF tickers not backfilling on anything other than time charts (day, week, month) - only starting to paint bars from the instance of ticker loading on chart
according to the data by provider list here Schwab does not include Historical Tick Data

hi, how about IBKR?I have connected TWS/IB Gateway but don’t have real time data feed sub w/ IBKR yet, though I have tested equities charts in NT and nothing comes up historically as well, only starts charting once ticker is loaded during active market. No chart comes up during off-market hours
This isn’t just you — it’s a data-provider limitation with Schwab, not a charting bug in NinjaTrader.
Schwab’s equities/ETF data feed does not support historical backfill for non-time-based intraday bars (tick, volume, range, etc.). As a result:
- Day / Week / Month charts backfill correctly → those are time-based
- Tick / Volume / Range charts only start printing from the moment the instrument is loaded
- NinjaTrader has nothing to request historically for those bar types, so it can’t backfill them
