while working extensively with Playback for strategy development and trade review, I noticed a relatively small improvements could significantly enhance usability and workflow.
- Precise Start time (and optional End time) + controlled loading
Currently, Playback only allows selecting a date, and data loading starts immediately after modifying an input field.
This creates a few issues:
- No ability to define an exact intraday starting point (e.g. 09:30)
- Frequent unintended reloads when adjusting inputs
- Slower workflow when iterating over specific market situations
- If you need to adjust multiple fields (e.g. start and end), data reload is triggered multiple times → you effectively have to wait twice
Even a minimal improvement would already help a lot:
- Allow selection of a Start Time in addition to the date
- Add a dedicated “Load” button to trigger data loading only after all inputs are configured
- Prevent automatic reload on every single field change
