Do not tell me to not backup documents STFU.
I trade on 4 different machines. My most important secondary is a laptop where I can get mobile WHEN my house loses power.
My Ninja Folder is 45.2GB mostly logs, temp, trace and DB folder
On My primary trading machine. I have completely disabled OneDrive and removed it
NinjaTrader has a long history of ignoring user pain caused by OneDrive.
You would think it would be a super simple solution to let the user decide at installation time where to locate the “NinjaTrader 8” user folder – but, noooo, any relocation of the user folder is still forbidden – this idea remains completely unsupported.
Moving the user folder to avoid OneDrive interaction is precisely what you’re asking. It’s completely clear this would solve all OneDrive issues.
NinjaTrader management continues to reject this idea.
A monumentally stupid NinjaTrader decision. They’ve never explained their position. Especially after the transition to SQLite, this change to allow user control of the user folder location should have become an engineering no-brainer.
Incompetence continues to prevail at the highest levels of NT management.
Bummer.
PS: Making suggestions to NT on this forum is effectively useless – we don’t know if NT Support reads these forums. We do know they do not participate in these forums – they have abandoned all public facing support – thus, you’ll need to email them directly or open a support ticket to make your voice heard.
