NT 8.1.7.0 no system sounds

After updating to NT 8.1.7.0 I had no system sounds.

After re-installing NT 8.1.6.3 NT system sounds are back to normal.

I also had problems with 8.1.7.0 , I have an indicator called Advanced volume profile and another called Beer Money. Both stopped working, the error had something to do with the reference to the Point of control. The Advanced volume profile allows you to use the visible range profile and the beer money shows volume imbalance and a profile. I switched back to 8.1.6.3 and everything works fine again. From my novice perspective I did not see any Improvements, only changes. The color selection change was not good, The Refresh rate to 50 milliseconds was welcome but we already have and indicator for that. Any way For now I’ll stay with 8.1.6.3 I’ts better.

Honestly this is a big pain point for me.

This revision added some volume mixer TO the app and as such is not installing correctly into the Windows Volume Mixer. And this is what’s breaking the whole thing.

I went back and forth an entire day with the support team only to come to the conclusion that ā€˜oh yeah, we did change something’. They immediately blamed Voicemeeter on my local machine but that wasn’t the case.

They claimed they were unable to reproduce the issue on their end. I’m assuming this was one system and probably the local system of the tester. I am very annoyed.

The newest version, seemed to be handling faster transaction draws on NQ so I was excited to have the update but no audio really messed up my workflow.

So sorry you are having such issues, it seems like this is simply an application related issue. One thing I always keep in mind is that technology is constantly evolving, and new updates will continue to be released. As platforms, software, and operating systems change, our own custom developed systems must also evolve to remain compatible and properly aligned with those changes.

Because of that, updates, modifications, and occasional adjustments are unavoidable. Every developer will face this at some point. The key is not to avoid change, but to be prepared for it. Staying proactive, monitoring updates, testing systems regularly, and making improvements before problems become critical can save a tremendous amount of time and frustration later.

I run into situations like this frequently myself. It’s a normal part of development. I’ve learned that staying ahead of the curve is far better than waiting until an issue becomes a major problem. Continuous maintenance, updates, and improvements are simply part of keeping any system reliable and effective over the long term.

Honestly Manny, this isn’t helpful.

If you have the problem, report it. If not, trying to rationalize normal development woes to those of us that ARE concerned about the issue and are currently experiencing it, is counterproductive.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Also, FWIW, I’ve updated the 8.1.7.1 and still no audio components are working.
