I originally signed up with Tradovate some time ago, but I’m now looking to move fully to NinjaTrader. I understand that I can use NinjaTrader Desktop with my existing Tradovate login (and I have been), and I also know that NinjaTrader now owns Tradovate.
What I’m trying to clarify is whether there is any difference in the brokerage, order routing, or backend fills between using NT Desktop connected via a Tradovate account vs using a native NinjaTrader brokerage account.
Specifically, I want to make sure I’m getting the best possible fills when trading from the NT Desktop platform. I’d prefer to avoid any extra hops such as NT → Tradovate → Exchange, if that’s a real thing.
Does closing my Tradovate account and moving fully to a NinjaTrader brokerage account make any practical difference in execution quality, latency, or fills or are they effectively the same under the hood now?
Appreciate any clarification from those who understand the backend architecture or have direct experience with both setups.
