NinjaTrader 8.1.6

Kickaha, NT, among other things, compiles all the NT Script, (Indicators, Strategies, etc), before opening Workspaces. If you have any NT Script other than what NT provides, this may be something to look into. Obviously, check the Log, any & every indication of something wrong, unusual, etc needs to be eliminated.

Oh don’t provoke all these others that argued with me again about checking custom indicators and strategies in this topic. :joy:

As I mentioned in my post, you need to rename your NinjaTrader 8 folder before reinstalling and leave it as the defaults.

The default installation will not have any of your workspaces, configurations, custom scripts etc.. I wanted to know if it will still take 30 minutes to load 8.1.6

Uninstalling, then reinstalling, then uninstalling won’t fix the issue if there’s a configuration file, script or some other issue that is slowing down your load time. 30 minutes is a very long time to load with no workspace set to open.

I also pointed out severla configuration things for you to check. If you set NinjaTrader to load all active workspaces, even though you open it to an empty one, its going to try to load all the other ones as well.

You quite possibly have something else, outside of drawing tools, that is causing a serious delay in loading. To figure it out, you will need to start with a clean configuration (fresh install with none of your data) and slowly migrate your scripts, and data over piece by piece until you can figure out why its taking so long.

You can hope that the NinjaTrader 8 engineers will give a fix before then but if you have a very unique situation they may not fix it and that could leave you stuck on 8.1.5.2
