I would like to perform backtests in NT and need 2-3 years of historical minute data for this. Do I need to purchase data from Kinetick for this? I have not yet been able to load historical data into the MES or MNQ chart. My account is active and capitalized. I would be grateful if someone could help me.

Just open MES and put in DATA SERIES at DAYS TO LOAD 720 days. NT8 will now download automatically all the data for the last 720 days and store it on your PC.
To check what data you have, you should go to DOCUMENTS/NinjaTrader 8/ DB. There you will see all the data that you have (day, minute and tick) already downloaded.
If you select DAY, you will see all the contracts that have been downloaded.

You can use the data by selecting each period, or you can use the data MERGE BACK ADJUSTED. Merge back means that the older contracts will be adapted to the last contract. So the quotes will all be recalculated and differ from the original quotes.

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, that worked, and I can now see that I have loaded the historical data into the database. I also found where to configure the merge settings in one of your posts.
