Hi everyone,
If Task Scheduler can open your NinjaTrader application and load your workspace. Why is it that saved strategies in the workspace are not enabled automatically as well? What is missing?
Any help is appreciated

You gotta think about it like this, professional retail traders, and you know traders using real money, probably want to wake up and enable their systems because real money is being used.
Alternatively, you can just put on your strategy, and simply donāt turn off your application. Although if you do that you have to ensure that your strategy is able to account for new sessions and other things. But itās about real money. Iām assuming and perhaps Iām wrong that you are on the prop simulation track, but when your strategy can make or lose $1500 a day, you probably want to get up at 6 AM and turn on your strategy, ensure everything is good, etc.
Lastly you can program something does that, but thats where you start to build ātrading infrasructureā, since weāre just retail, ā get up and turn it on yourself, weāre not using bloombergy terminals here
I thought we were in the middle of an AI revolution. We can definitely do better than āāget up and turn it on yourselfāā
Are we really okay with this?
I get your point, and I agree that this should be the default behavior/setting. But there should be an option to disable this default behavior/setting.
Donāt degrade yourself with empty hopes of ai turning on your computer for you. Do it yoursel and then sell it to the masses. If you want it, then other want it.
It took cars 100 years to permeate, itāll take AI about the same to ārevolutionizeā mankind⦠sufficiently to remove the fatigue inducing step of turning on the platform.
Butā¦
You can program it yourself with ai. Self help is the way. Be industrios
There is no API provided to start a strategyā¦the strategy has the ability to shutdown, so programmatically one can only stop a strategy, unless one uses something like autohotkey or commercial alternatives to simulate click actions.
I think I would rate the lack of ability to start a strategy programatically as one of the biggest issues one faces when creating a trading infrastructure for algo trading in ninjatrader⦠another most irritating thing is the login screenā¦
There should be an option to have ninjatrader turned on connected and running live strategies automatically on rebootā¦no one is asking anyone to use it, but to treat everyone as if they are retards and need to be saved from their own idiocyā¦that is a really condescending outlook ninjatrader seems to have towards its usersā¦
You should explore āOpenClawā.
ā¦Programming it myself seems like the best option.
I wonder if there are better alternatives to NinjaTrader.
