I am trying to install an add on script. I have followed all the suggested troubleshooting here - Unhandled exception: Access to the path ‘’ is denied - OneDrive Error
I have tried everything listed here - Can’t install Addons - NinjaTrader Support Forum
And still, I get the same error message. " Unhandled exception: Could not find a part of the path C:\Users\joyab\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\tmp\Import\Backup "
This file DOES exist, but I get the error every time.
Can anyone help with this?

I responded to a similar question here:
The clue is in the message. It appears that your NT user folder has fallen on OneDrive. I’m guessing you’re on Windows 11 and Microsoft in their infinite wisdom have decided to put your user profile on OneDrive. If you don’t use OneDrive, get rid of it completely.
Otherwise, you’ll need to disentangle NT from OneDrive and make sure your NT user folder (not installation folder) goes on your local hard drive at this location: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
I don’t know how to …
I appreciate the answer, but I’m not using OneDrive, as you can see in the file location.
I’m still looking for answers
For anyone else that has been struggling with this…here is what worked for me
Begin by moving the tmp Folder to the Desktop:
Close NinjaTrader
Go to the Documents Folder > NinjaTrader 8, tmp Folder. Click and Drag this folder and drop it on the Desktop.
Now, follow the steps below to Repair the Installation of NinjaTrader:
Close NinjaTrader
Go to the Windows Control Panel (NOT the Apps screen) > Programs and Features (Sometimes “Uninstall a program”) > Click NinjaTrader > Click “Repair”
Click Next through the prompts until it is Finished and it is done
From here, reopen NinjaTrader and try importing the add-on again and it should work.

Apologies if my response didn’t apply to you. However, the error message you posted in the first paragraph of your original message included a mention of OneDrive, thus my suggestion.
