I have developed a trading system using Visual Studio. It is NOT linked to the NSE. I have compiled the system, made a NON NESTED zip file with all the directories and files in their proper place, but I get the error message when trying to import the system that it was made on an older version of NT, which it was not. How do I go about importing this trading system for testing.
The Import NinjaScript dialog expects a zip made by NinjaTrader’s own export (Tools > Export > NinjaScript), which includes an Info.xml with the export version. A hand-made zip lacks it, so the import treats it as an old or unknown format, whatever version you built with. Two ways out: copy your .cs files into Documents/NinjaTrader 8/bin/Custom (in the matching folders, e.g. Strategies, AddOns), open the NinjaScript Editor and compile; or, once it compiles there, use Tools > Export to make a proper package. If you built a compiled DLL in Visual Studio, put it in bin/Custom and add it as a reference instead. Happy to help further, feel free to DM me.
