Hello,
Is there any way to keep the bar width a fixed size, regardless of other actions on the chart?
I often pull the time (x) axis of the chart left or right .
Sometimes this resizes the bar width .
thanks

Right click > data series > and youâll find the settings for bar width.
In case this helpsâŚâŚ
Sounds like it could be a âglitchâ that existed since NT7, & the following is from the cobwebs of my memory, not something Iâve done in a long time.
That even if you select the bar width, if you stretch the axis âtoo farâ that value gets âoverriddenâ, resulting in a wider bar. It doesnât then revert if you then un-stretch the axis, & have to go back in to bar width setting where youâll see a larger value than you set, & have to change it back.
IF this is what is happening for you, then a way of overcoming is to stretch the x-axis way beyond anything youâre likely to stretch it to in use, set your preferred bar width in this state, and then shrink the axis to whatever you want to use.
Simply put, you want to set the width setting at an axis stretch that you will never exceed, such that you wonât trigger the behaviour it seems to me that youâre experiencing. The bar width setting field is not treated as an absolute value.
Or maybe thatâs not it at all, and/maybe the above was fixed in NT8 ![]()
