So its effectively unavailable for the public access, which is very sad. I guess I’d add here that probably be a good idea for someone to back up the indicators, user app share website, because if the new owners are deprecating the old form with all this information, why would they allow this free resource to exist, the user app share, seems like a matter of time before that’s sunset as well.
that’s really bad answer from Ninja! It’s like oh yeah well we built a community and let contribute and now removed get on with that … and then they expect people now to contribuet again ? Wtf seriously ? I think sadly afetr all time invested in NT am goign to look for alt platform … assholes

Now, since discourse is live, the safest path would be to create historical categories for old forum data. They could import posts under official NT support accounts and map user posts to the system user (ID -1), but append a clean HTML/Markdown “signature” block to the top or bottom of the post text showing who originally wrote it.
Another cost cut from NT, just like any other company does nowadays. That forum is what made me choose NT 8 years ago. For a multimillion-dollar company like NT, paying for hosting would cost absolutely nothing. Sad.
Those AI tools dont have access to the attachments that were on the forum. I never posted my code in the ecosystem, only as attachments. Gone forever.
I think if we continue to press the issue as paying customers of NinjaTrader, we might persuade them to bring back this very important resource. Our best chance is if each of us individually sends our own email, conveying exactly how crucial this is and asking them to restore it. I am writing on behalf of many long-time members of the NinjaTrader community who are deeply concerned about the removal of the legacy forums and the irreplaceable knowledge that has been lost as a result.
For many of us, the original forum was far more than a discussion board. It represented years of collaboration between traders, developers, educators, and NinjaScript programmers who voluntarily invested countless hours creating tutorials, answering questions, sharing indicators, posting source code, uploading attachments, and documenting solutions to complex trading and programming challenges.
That knowledge was not generated by a single company it was built collectively by an entire community over many years.
The legacy forum became one of the primary reasons many traders chose NinjaTrader. It demonstrated an active, knowledgeable, and supportive ecosystem where new users could learn from experienced traders and developers. It significantly reduced the learning curve for NinjaScript development and encouraged innovation through the sharing of ideas.
Unfortunately, with the removal of the legacy forum, an extraordinary amount of that knowledge has become inaccessible.
Among the losses are
Thousands of technical discussions covering NinjaScript development.
Custom indicators and strategies that existed only as forum attachments.
Educational examples and programming solutions referenced by users worldwide.
Historical conversations that documented years of community problem-solving.
Valuable trading concepts and techniques developed collaboratively by experienced traders.
While artificial intelligence and search tools are valuable, they cannot replace content that no longer exists or recover files and attachments that were never published elsewhere.
Many community members are concerned not simply because a forum was replaced, but because decades of shared knowledge appear to have disappeared. Rebuilding that library from scratch is not realistic. It took many years and contributions from thousands of individuals to create.
We respectfully ask that NinjaTrader consider one or more of the following:
Restore the legacy forum in a read-only format.
Provide an archived version that remains searchable.
Restore access to historical attachments and code examples.
Publish an official timeline or plan regarding preservation of the legacy content.
Work with the community to ensure this valuable knowledge is not permanently lost.
Preserving the forum is not merely about nostalgia. It is about protecting one of the largest collections of NinjaTrader-specific programming and trading knowledge ever assembled. It continues to have educational value for both new and experienced users.
The community invested an enormous amount of time and expertise into building this resource. We hope that investment can be honored by making the historical content accessible once again.
We appreciate the work your team continues to do to improve the platform, and we respectfully ask that preserving the legacy knowledge base become a priority. We believe restoring access would strengthen the relationship between NinjaTrader and the community that has supported it for so many years.

I emailed them the open a ticket after I said I wasn’t accepting a washed out AI reply but haven’t heard from them yet here is my email to them :

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the removal of the legacy NinjaTrader forum and the apparent decision not to migrate its content to the new Discourse platform.
For many years, the original forum was far more than a discussion board. It was an invaluable technical knowledge base containing thousands of posts from NinjaTrader engineers, experienced developers, ecosystem vendors, and long-standing community members. It documented countless implementation details, workarounds, architectural explanations, and practical examples that were never incorporated into the official documentation.
With the migration to the new forum, this accumulated knowledge now appears to have been removed from public access. From a developer’s perspective, this represents a significant loss to the NinjaTrader ecosystem.
What is particularly difficult to understand is why a migration of the historical content was apparently not undertaken. Modern forum platforms, including Discourse, provide established migration paths and import tools, and many organisations successfully preserve years of community discussions during platform transitions. Even if a perfect migration was not possible, maintaining the legacy forum in a permanent read-only state would have preserved an extraordinary technical resource.
Instead, developers now face the prospect of repeatedly solving problems that had already been discussed and resolved over many years. This increases support requests, duplicates effort across the community, and ultimately weakens the development ecosystem around NinjaTrader.
More importantly, this decision raises a broader concern about long-term confidence in the platform.
Independent developers invest hundreds or thousands of hours building indicators, strategies, AddOns, educational material, and commercial products around NinjaTrader. That investment is based not only on the platform itself but also on confidence that the surrounding ecosystem—including its accumulated technical knowledge—will continue to exist.
When years of technical discussions can disappear without a comprehensive migration or clear preservation strategy, it naturally causes developers to question the long-term stability of the ecosystem they are investing their time and businesses into.
Could you please clarify:
- Why was the legacy forum removed instead of being preserved in read-only form?
- Was a migration of the historical content to Discourse considered, and if so, why was it not implemented?
- Is the original forum database still archived internally?
- Are there any plans to restore public access to the historical discussions or make them searchable in another form?
- Has any AI company purchased the content of the legacy forum ?
I believe preserving community knowledge should be considered a strategic asset rather than historical content with limited value. The old forum represented well over a decade of collective expertise and problem solving. Losing access to that information is a loss not only for existing developers but also for every new developer considering whether to invest in the NinjaTrader platform.
I hope NinjaTrader will reconsider this decision or, at the very least, provide a roadmap for restoring access to the legacy knowledge base. Doing so would demonstrate a commitment to the developer community that has contributed significantly to the platform’s success.

Google “wayback machine” → Enter NT forum url → Select a date (e.g. July 8th) → Select a forum → select a post → YMMV → if you get a message about “The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL” → Select the “Click here to search for all archived pages” link to view all posts available under that forum.

A last resort, far from ideal because it introduces too much friction and makes proper research difficult. Alternatively, NinjaTrader could just make a 30 year encyclopedia library available.

That is a travesty. I mean how much money do they actually save by turning off the servers? Pennies. And all that lost knowledge!
They know not what they do.
There’s a possibility that they do not have backups and hackers deleted or encrypted database for ransom. We can only speculate since, as far as I’m aware, no human representative ever responded why they decided to erase decades worth of knowledge.
