Visual studio 2026

is visual studio 2026 supported by Ninja?

Seems like it should work. The specific Visual Studio doesn’t matter much as long as it supports the correct .NET framework version. Seems like it should work for 4.8 which is what Ninja is on. Visual Studio Compatibility | Microsoft Learn

It isn’t “supported” but it’s compatible with C#. Current releases as of this moment will launch VS2022 from the “Open project in Visual Studio” icon on the NinjaScript Editor, but you can rest assured they will add VS2026 support there in due time. There are still some VS2026 bugs that are somewhat prominent (crashes, etc.) and it’s only been GA for 24 hours so you should read into that exactly what it sounds like.

I will wait on my primary device, I will do limited testing on secondary devices

I have installed it to kick the tires, but I’m not doing production work yet on 2026. I need to test it more thoroughly before I make that transition.

I have tested VS2026 and it works fine for me with the existing NT project (NT v8.1.5.2).

I use Visual Studio for 99.9% of all programming I do in NinjaTrader (which is a lot).

I’m sticking with VS2022 for the time being, but will no doubt move over in a few months after VS2026 has had a little more real world testing.

I am using some c#14 features Upgrading to VS2026 was cleaner than the .NET 10 SDK. So far it seems functional. I am seeing a delayed Playback stop issue. I am also on Ninja 8.1.6.1
