NinjaTrader Vendor Affiliate Program

Hello fellow vendors,

I was wondering if other vendors here have received the same email from NT to sign up for the Vendor Affiliate Program and what your opinion is about this program. Have you signed up already or are you planning to sign up? Do you see any issues or gotchas?

There is a 15 page legal document that outlines all the terms which I quickly scanned through. Wondering if anyone has thoroughly read this and if so, what your opinion is.

The part that seems odd to me is that, we as vendors offer products that run on NT, so anyone looking at our products would already be a NT customer. Personally, I don’t see myself in a position that I can influence someone’s decision to pick a certain trading platform. It isn’t clear to me how this is going to work or if it is even worth pursuing as a vendor. I understand the argument in favor of doing it, which is: it’s added revenue *IF* someone uses your affiliate link to sign up for NT - which I’m not convinced will happen or will be significant enough to warrant getting into what I view as an unnecessary legal contract and a complication with no clear reward. I may be completely wrong about this, so I’m hoping to hear your opinions.

I appreciate any thoughts and feedback you might have related to this topic.

Thank you

Yeah, it’s a bit complicated, especially for new vendors. As a representative from Rize Capital, a vendor that’s been in the business for years, I can say that there are not any “issues or gotchas”. However, I’d still recommend going through everything just for legal purposes.

One other alternative is using a third party for your licensing and stuff. I’m happy to announce that there is a possibility of Rize Capital offering such partner programs. If you are still unsure then, give us a message!

Hey there, I really appreciated your post because it honestly captures the same hesitations I’ve been sitting with myself.

I did sign up for the Vendor Affiliate Program. At first glance, I thought it was a no-brainer - I mean, who wouldn’t want a bit of extra revenue for simply directing people to a platform they were going to use anyway, right?

But once I started reading through the details - the legal agreement, the disclosures, and the extra implementation steps…I quickly realized this wasn’t just a plug-and-play affiliate link. There’s work involved: specific disclosure requirements for websites and social media accounts, and a general sense that you’re now taking on added compliance responsibilities.

Like you mentioned, nearly everyone using our tools is either already a NinjaTrader user or is about to become one during onboarding. So from that standpoint, the actual influence we have on “conversion” is questionable. The value proposition becomes murky when you realize the affiliate payout may not apply retroactively - it hinges entirely on them using your link before they sign up.

So for now, I’ve put a pin in it. It’s not that I’m writing it off entirely - I might revisit it once I have more time to devote to doing it properly. But at this stage, the effort-to-reward ratio feels off. I’m still in the evaluation phase too, trying to determine whether it’s worth the overhead, especially considering the regulatory and content compliance side of things.

Would love to hear if anyone else has successfully integrated it and found it worthwhile.
