Wonder if this is happening to anyone else. My saved ATM templates keep disappearing for no apparent reason. This happens randomly, maybe about once or twice a month. I checked the folder where they are stored “…\NinjaTrader 8\templates\AtmStrategy”. But the templates which are stored there are not the ones that show up on my chart trader. And when I save a new template, they are not being added to this folder. So I have to guess that one of the recent updates to NT8 changed how these templates are being saved. But I cannot locate them anywhere on my device.

I never allow OneDrive or any other cloud app to serve as backup to my Documents folder. It just never made sense to me, and I see others describing nightmare scenarios when that is enabled.
In regard to the templates being saved to that folder. That was the first place I checked. And on my system the templates I found in that folder were created in March 2026 and never modified. None of them appear in the list of ATM templates I created for chart trader or supper DOM. And today I created two new ATM templates but they never appeared in this folder. And I have already had to create new templates several times since March 2026 and yet none of them are showing up in that folder either.
Once I create new ones, they will be fine for weeks. Then suddenly vanish and have to be recreated.
Maybe using Search on the filenames to find where your newly created ATM Templates are actually being saved might help shed a little light on the mystery?
Yep. You are on the right track. I’ve done all of that before asking to see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues. I know my way around a computer and by the time I run into something that I need help with it typically requires level 2 support or higher.
Today I logged in and one of the two templates I created yesterday is missing from the chart trader where you select the “ATM Strategy”. The other template I created yesterday has been retained.
And when I view the contents of the “AtmStrategy” folder, I find 4 different templates. And none of them appear in the “ATM Strategy” selection field on chart trader. And each of them shows a “modified date” of several months ago.
I’m including some screenshots of my own because I know it cannot be believed unless folks see if for themselves.
I can believe it for sure. I’ve experienced dodgy behaviour with ATM Templates for years occasionally. For me, always that the selected Template would cease to be selected for no apparent reason. But not disappeared, just have to drop down & select.
I gave up on ever being fixed given not something could give reproducible steps to replicate.
Just a quick follow up to explain what I have discovered.

So I decided to check the documentation on saving and managing templates. The documentation does not specifically state the templates are saved on their servers. But it does state that each template you save is tied specifically to the account and selected instrument. This means at each contract rollover all the templates must be recreated and saved. (this explains why mine keep vanishing!).
Since the templates I save cannot be located anywhere on my device, I am left with the impression they are stored on the server.
