It looks like NinjaTrader is only going to run on Windows 11 in the future. Can you confirm?

I guess what Iā€™m really asking is do I need Win 11 to run the latest desktop software?

I run it on W11. I also have a backup computer with W10 and it runs without any problem.

I still use version 8.1.5.2 64-bit on both systems. I never install immediately the latest version.

I think that half of the world is still on W10 instead of W11.

If you want support - run it on W11.

Just upgrade! I remember when people were still trying to hold on to Windows XP and Vista. :smile:

Actually, it doesnā€™t say you have to use Windows 11. All the minimum requirements listed are on Windows 10.

I would imagine that this likely takes the form of - NinjaTrader like any other software company probably wants to test their software on current, supported versions of the operating system that are still getting all the latest security fixes etc. Windows 10 is no longer being actively updated for retail users, so separate and apart from NinjaTraderā€™s decisions, you have to think hard about how long you are willing to be stranded on an OS that is no longer being actively maintained.

I get it that many people have Windows 10-compatible hardware and donā€™t want to change because change is hard and theyā€™ve maybe invested a lot in that hardware. I also get that some people just ā€œdonā€™t likeā€ Windows 11. But, at some point, after some years, you risk becoming the curmudgeon that is telling kids to get their ball out of his yardā€¦ they say time waits for no man and Microsoft has very clearly moved on, some years ago now.

This is so very pathetic that these capitalist agendas are shoved on our face while they take everything from us on the pretext that they are going to save the planet. How can they force the entire planet to upgrade their OS, create all this eWaste because although the hardware works there is no software to run on it. All these worthless innovations they came up with between the Netscape browser and ChatGPT is not reason enough to be fleecing money from everyone while junking perfectly working hardware into the garbage bin. I have iPad 2 which showed Youtube 10 years back and now cant even do simple dropbox or calendar functionality. Really calendar has evolved in 10 years to such an extend that the perfectly built iPad 2 cant handle itā€¦total scam, silicon valley is that frankenstien monster we have created that will destroy everything, Gaza is the perfect example, using public money to fund a genocide so silicon valley can make there billions (same thing in Ukraine, manufactured a war to get 20 billion dollars to make a citizen id system), wars pandemic all very good business for silicon valley. No wonder Iran specifically dropped a bomb on Microsoft office.

International Court of Justice has declared it a genocide, experts on genocide have declared it a genocide, any human with common sense can see its a genocideā€¦I am a techie not a politician, I have to say things the way they are, its not like if I promote the mainstream lies anyone here is going to give me a winning strategyā€¦

Please try to stay on track here. These forums are for discussions related to NinjaTrader. There is probably a legitimate discussion in there but not for this forum.
